Back in 2005 the options for real alternatives to the mainstream nightlife of Zurich were limited - only available in a few venues like Abart Music Club (R.I.P.), D33 (R.I.P.) and Werk 21. Additionally, there was no place where mainly "Old Music" (with quality) got played - apart from the usual Disco & Pop hits of the 70s & 80s.
For this reason a small group of friends created a new party concept. The idea: a place dedicated to the wilder, harder, weirder & darker sounds of the 60s, 70s and 80s. "Flowers, Boots & Bones" was born. The man in charge of the music, The DJ Sucks, soon found a perfect counterpart in DJ Krypt. Both share a strong love for "music with attitude" from the past. Psychedelic-, Death- & Garage-Rock, (Post) Punk, Rockabilly & Psychobilly, New & Dark Wave, Motown & Rocksteady, Metal, they played it all. As a result "Flowers, Boots & Bones" became the first successful "Alternative Oldies"-Party in Switzerland.
For the following three years several editions of the party took place - first at Provitreff, later at the Abart Music Club in Zurich and KiFF in Aarau. In 2008 however the team stopped their activity for an unknown period of time.
In 2014 - 6 years after the official closing party of "Flowers, Boots & Bones" - both Krypt and The DJ Sucks decided to bring it back to life.
As an addition the 50s and the 90s got included in the soundline - to represent all decades of the 20th century.
We are back in business. Expect some great music, stay open minded and keep on rockin'!
